Congratulations on getting a family interview! Please read over our recommendations for interviewing with a potential employer.
Be early. Aim to arrive 10 minutes prior to your interview time, find parking, and get yourself settled. You can knock on their door either a few minutes early or exactly on time.
Dress conservatively, no low cut tops or short shorts, etc. Since you won’t be dressing in business attire for your job, you can dress casually and comfortably so you can interact with the kids. Avoid dressing too casually such as athleisure.
Minimize jewelry and avoid perfumes.
Ask questions about the kids and show interest in getting to know them. If the kids are present during the interview, interact and connect with them!
Keep it professional and friendly. Don’t overshare personal information or things going on in your personal life.
Make sure your social media media profiles are either squeaky clean or lock them down so parents can’t view them. Not all parents will check this, but some will and it can prevent you from being hired even if you nailed the interview!
You are an experienced, highly recommended nanny and we know you’ll do great! Good luck!
