Full-Time Nanny/Family Assistant - La Jolla, CA

Lovely German family in La Jolla is seeking an experienced, proactive, Jill of all trades nanny/family assistant to support their growing family. They have 3 children - Boy age 3 and Girl age 5 (they just started preschool and kindergarten respectively), and new baby girl on the way due in November. They have had their current nanny since their oldest was a baby so this will be a big transition for the family (Nanny moved to the US with them and will be returning to Germany). The family highly values honesty, gentle and respectful parenting, and open communication. This will be a long term opportunity for a dedicated career nanny as they envision their new nanny being with them for the next 3-5 years!

La Jolla, CA

Schedule and Hours:

40 hours guaranteed

Their current nanny works a split shift M-F 8am-12pm and 2pm-6pm. Family is open to more of a standard 9am-5pm. Flexibility for occasional late evenings and weekends preferred, will be paid OT when applicable.

Rate:

$30+ per hour DOE paid on payroll

Responsibilities:

This is a true dual role of nanny and family assistant as the 2 older children are in school from 8am-3pm and Mom will be spending a good amount of time with the baby. Helping with school drop offs and pick ups, taking the children to any extracurricular activities or outings to the park/beach/zoo etc., engaging with them in fun/creative/educational activities at home. Must be comfortable caring for the newborn when needed, typical infant care duties. While the kids are in school, household duties include grocery shopping, cooking, laundry, and tidying of children’s areas. Family will provide a car for the nanny to drive on the job.

Requirements:

3+ years experience as a nanny/family assistant

Experience with infants and toddlers

A proactive and pitch-in attitude

Mature, professional, and open and honest communicator

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Trustline registered or willing to register

Infant/Child CPR Certified

Able to work legally in the US
